Where did you grow up?
New Orleans, LA
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
I have wanted to be a doctor since I was a young child to help and care for other people. I chose pediatric neurology because of my interest in neuroscience and the developing brain. I love working with children and helping them grow up healthy and strong.
How long have you practiced in the Washington, DC area and what do you like most about it?
I have been practicing as a pediatric neurologist since 2012. I like the diversity of families in the area, supportive network of colleagues, and abundance of amenities that meet the interests and lifestyle of my family.
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
When I am not taking care of patients, I enjoy spending time with my family, trying new restaurants, and going to the beach.
Describe your proudest accomplishment as a provider and/or in your personal life:
One of my proudest moment was when I diagnosed a child with a rare disease that had a treatment. She was able to walk after starting treatment. The patient’s diagnosis also helped her older sibling with the same disorder who lived in another country without access to same healthcare.
If you weren’t a doctor, what profession would you most likely be doing and why?
I would probably be a pastry chef and learn to make French pastries and cakes to help families celebrate their special moments.
